The Story

Wow I just became a granny and am bit old for all this "blogging" stuff but decided to try it out!  I thought I might share about the transition it's been for our family moving from California where almost every day the sun shines, to Idaho where we can't wait for Spring!

I'm kind of new at this blogging business, but I thought it would be fun to share pictures, thoughts, recipes and experiences with family and friends.

We moved here a few years ago with intent to provide a "an old fashioned country" atmosphere for our two younger children.  Two of our kids are grown and live in California.  And some great news - we recently became grandparents!  Our daughter and her husband live just south of Irvine, walking distance from the Pacific and had a healthy, beautiful, baby girl.

We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS, Mormon) and chose Idaho because of its large LDS community.

I recently earned my BS in Nursing and my husband is a truck driver for a national company and travels to Montana regularly.

Our youngest daughter has Down syndrome. The opportunities that Idaho offers people with special needs are great!

We have two sons, one who is in his twenties and one who is in his teens, who helps his mom a ton!  We are are a busy family and thankful for all that we have been blessed with.

So there you have it.  Not too exciting but with many funny, lovable moments I am grateful for and some challenges as well as we raise our child with special needs, learn how to deal with snow, gardening and other "Idaho" experiences.  I hope for the best.
